Hello all

I'm building a new responsibility that will be given out to a wide spectrum of HR users, essentially mimicking "employee self-service" but using core forms (and also read-only) - please dont ask why as i'll only get upset....

Anyway, each user of the system exists as an employee in HR, and the employee record is linked to their application user account.
SO, for this to work i need a custom security profile that will restrict access to just the employee record linked to that users record.

I know you can create a profile restricted to a named user, but i dont want to have to create 1-profile-per-employee. There must be a way of doing this using a custom SQL security profile.

Has anyone done this before? Hate to have to reinvent the wheel.

Regards
Barry

eh? anyways wont ask why...

but i think this should be easy using the custom security profile screen..

below note explains in detail..
Understanding and Using HRMS Security in Oracle HRMS (Doc ID 394083.1)

you might just have simple code something like..
PERSON.person_id = fnd_global.employee_id() or something..

No "might" about it...
PERSON.person_id = fnd_global.employee_ID() does the trick perfectly smile

Many thanks
