RUP10 has introduced new payroll functionality whereby you cannot roll back the Transfer to GL once the journal has been posted. I would have thought that there would be some roll back journal functionality in GL if a problem is discovered in payroll and it needs to be re-run. But, there doesn't seem to be. Reversing the journal has no effect. Has anyone tested this yet and, maybe, found the undocumented solution? I have raised an SR in the meantime.

I haven't reached upto Transfer to GL in my testing because FPS is erroring saying 'No pre-payment exists for this Assignment' for which I have raise SR.

Did you you test FPS after applying RUP10?

Yes, FPS was fine.

Oracle have confirmed that this is intended functionality. Once payroll journal has been imported to GL you can no longer rollback the Transfer to GL process. Manual adjustments will have to be made in GL if necessary.

So what happens if the transfer to GL fails, can it be rolled back then?

In ten years, I've never known a month where at least one of the Transfer to GL fails because of issues with the Cross-validation rules.

It's only locked from rollback once the journal has been posted to GL. If the transfer fails, I assume there will be no journal to post and should, therefore, be able to roll back. Although I've not tested this scenario.
