Anyone got any exposure to running Oracle apps on Citrix?

If so, i'd appreciate all war stories and gory bits.

Thanks

Hi Barry,

We use citrix here and normally is OK. There are some performance issues from time to time but in general it works fine. Users from Scotland and Warrington connect to a citrix farm in London.

Regards,

Jairo

Thanks for the reply.

Somehow the phrase 'citrix farm' conjures up some bizzare images

Hi Barry,

As all good stories must have, here is the balancing argument.

Here in the flight path, we have been using citrix for a long while and have come up with a number of issues.
• Poor performance due to server capacity
• Users failing to connect due to the number of sessions available.
• Dropping sessions, but unable to re-connect due to the session still being active on the server
• Copy and paste failing due to the applications (e.g. Word and Oracle) not being on the same citrix server.
• Users seeing different screens as the servers are not replicated correctly…….

Unfortunately, even though these are all trivial, they get the most complaints !!

Cheers
Brian

Hey Brian, many thanks for the tips.
These seem an irritant enough for our (expanding) user base to get their teeth into

All I can say is that I was careful when leaving LGW to make sure that my next project didn't suffer from Citrix
