Surya, can you be more specific?

If you are referring to items that the employee holds because of his or her job, such as a laptop or a mobile phone, then that might be implemented by a Special Information Type, or a Person Extra Info or maybe even an assignment extra info structure.

There is very limited capability within Core HRMS for recording corporate assets.
Within OLM you have the ability to create assets such as OHP, classrooms etc, but primarily these are for use within OLM. The only 'asset' that has its own place within HRMS is vehicles.

For more mundane items such as desktops, printers et al you may need to venture into other modules (such as Fixed Assets).

Alternatively you could venture into customisations - but i suspect that this is not what you are wanting.

A pretty standard means of doing this is to set up (as that famously funky CT says) Special Information Types. These can then be enabled in Employee and Manager Self Service, so that the employee can add them as required with Supervisor approval using the standard workflow.

E.g.

Segment 1 to hold the Property Type, with a list of values
Segment 2 to hold reference/ID number
Segment 3 to hold date allocated to employee
Segment 4 to hold date employee gave back the property
Etc...

You can set up an Alert, Report or Workflow, say, when an employee leaves to remind the manager to get the stuff back.
