We are currently running the balance initialization process for our parallel run. We are getting an error message for some records that I have seen before but can't for the life of me remember what the problem actually means.

"This combination of balances is invalid for the load date"

Any ideas?..................CT?

As you know I'm not a betting man, but I would put a shilling on the fact that you are trying to load more than one dimension for the same balance, such as an _ASG_ITD and something with an expiry? I recall we had this very problem at a well-known employment agency in Tolworth, SW London?

What it's objecting to is the fact that there is an inconsistency in the figures for the 2 dimensions, e.g. Season_Ticket_ASG_ITD = 20, Season_Ticket_ASG_YTD = 25 . If you think about it, the ITD cannot ever be LESS than the _ASG_YTD, which has an expiry of 31-MAR

On the subject of multiple dimensions, bear in mind also that if you have a balance with dimension X = non-zero and dimension Y = zero, you MUST load the zero balance with the non-zero. If you only load the non-zero balance, the value for dimension Y will look the same as that for dimension X. Which will of course be wrong. If they're both zero then it's OK not to load either of them if you wanted to save time.

Do you still have the will to live?

It's all coming back to me now. As it turns out, our problem was not exactly this, but similar. We had 2 balnces from our legacy system trying to be loaded to the one balance in Oracle.
