We have a situation down 'ere in the vaalleeees whereby some kind soul has elected to create some element entries using Mix - before we have been able to initialise balances. Now then: as you are doubtless aware, the Mix process chooses to create assignment actions associated with these uploaded element entries, much to the annoyance of the Balance Initialisation process.

I have a mind to somehow remove the assignment actions associated with the Mix batch, but still leave the uploaded element entries in situ. Anyone got any war stories around doing this?

You should be fine to remove the assignment actions - I have done similar things elsewhere - they are a hindrance - nothing more.

The assignment actions are there in case you want to rollback the batch. Remove the assignment actions and I assume you remove the ability to rollback the batch. Something you would probably only want to do if the elements have not yet been processed in a pay run. If that's the case, the tidier option would be to rollback the batches, run the balance initialisation and rerun the batches in.
