We had a(nother) problem with the element entry API recently whereby it was failing on valueset validation (these days one may optionally use a valueset to validate an input value - what will they think of next) . .The problem was the age-old one of a table-based valueset that incorporated a reference to fnd_sessions and... well you can guess the rest. Problem is of course that DataPump can't set up it's own fnd_sessions row. . .The normal course of action would be to set up a before/after user hook to take care of business except that there is no before/after user hook on the element entry api. Until now that is. Patch number 4366261 delivers user-hook functionality to the element entry api. . .For those that are morbidly interested in such things the TAR that relates this tale of woe can be viewed on Metalink TAR no 4375928.999

FYI there are row-handler user hooks available for element entries. They've been in place here at *** for a couple of years. .They're configured and set up in the same way as normal business process hooks (just follow the documentation).
