I've had a couple of PMs today, which I happened to notice because I was on-line. I'm pretty sure that I normally get a notification email, to say a PM is waiting for me - although none have been forthcoming today.

Do we have a problem, Houston?

Ahem...we might do...
And it may (or may not) be linked to the fact that the email addresses/domains behind the scenes are in disarray.

I'll get me toolbox and wander off into the darkness to take a look.

There is a problem - however at present i'm not sure what has gone wrong as the problem is intermittent.

We're still working on it

**UPDATE**
This is still an issue - i have a sneaky feeling that its something to do with the way the alert emails are being generated.
Either they are being blocked by the sending server (ie our host) or they are being (incorrectly) classed as SPAM by other people's ISP's.

CT i may enlist your help with an experiement soon to test this theory...Dont go away smile

May have to be away for a day or so from this afternoon until tomorrow afternoon, but I should be around on Thursday.

For what it's worth, I think the problem is more likely to be on the outgoing side. Yahoo*Mail parks 'suspicious' emails in a spam folder rather than filtering them outright, so I should still get something - and, judging by the number of emails from banks that are mad keen for me to click on the link and then confirm my login details (some of which I don't even bank with), it's working very well.

Okay.
It looks like one of the patches applied at the back-end of last year 'unset' the email notifications checkbox against people's user profiles.
Although not everyone was affected.

So...if you wish to receive email notifications when someone sends you a Personal Message (PM) then please re-check your settings (Found under "My Stuff -> Preferences".
