Hi all
As mentioned in the "What's planned for 2009" posting, we are now ready to schedule parts 1 & 2 of the grand plan for HRMS Aces...

Part 1 - Server Move
During the week commencing 6th April the whole of HRMS Aces community will be taken off-line to enable the databases to be backed-up and ported across to a brand new host/server. The site will be established under a different domain name (as a temporary measure to enable testing).
Its envisaged that this will take approx a day to achieve (as we will be performing this task with both the main site and the backup copy). During this time there will be no access to HRMS Aces at all frown You will simply see the "Forum is down for maintenance" message)

Part 2 - Domain Move
We will then update the DNS entries for both HRMSAces-dot-COM and dot-CO-dot-UK to point them at the new server.
These updates will take anything up to 96 hours to propagate through the inter-web (this part is out of our control). During this time it is likely that you will get "domain not found" errors when trying to access either of these URL's depending upon where you are accessing the site from. As an interim measure we will be making available one of the alternative domains. We have several spare domains up our electronic sleeve's (including HCMAces-dot-com and dot-CO-dot-UK).

The domains are being moved across to a new Registrar so it is possible that this alternative domain will be in use for a week or 2.

An email will go out to all registered users of this site before this activity takes place, and at that time we will advise you all as to which alternate domain name to use.

We will try our best not to lose anyone on the way !

Regards

Admin.

Emails have gone out - we close at 8pm BST.

Oh, and by the way.
Any email's that are bounced back will be taken to mean the relevant user account is now inactive - we will therefore be taking this opportunity to do some housekeeping and purge these dormant accounts.

Thanks
