Not to be confused with the earlier "Update from OHUG" posting, this one actually contains some information (even if it is at high level).
I'd like to be able to post/publish/provide links to the presentations, but i've not yet got approval from the relevant copyright holders frown When i have (if i have) i will set up a links page and host the docs somewhere on this site.

Anyway, here are some highlights from the "Oracle EBS HCM Release 12.1 and Beyond" presentation given by Anand Subbaraman (Oracle Corp).

The key themes from this (and many of the other 12.1 presentations) was "Talent Management" - a big push to intergrate all of the key HCM modules to provide a unified interface for the On-boarding/Off-boarding of staff, career management and succession planning.

Release 12.1 Highlights
Oracle iRecruitment
* Dashboard improvements & UI improvements
* Better employee referall management
* Better Interview management
* Implementation of a new secure enterprise search facility

Oracle Learning Management
* Introduction of Learner Groups
* Mandatory Enrolments - to facilitate 'push' enrolment of mandated training
* Improved Course Evaluation mechanisms
* Improved Enrolment management
* Free Text question
* Attachments access on Catalog items for Learners

Oracle Performance Management
* Objectives "Line of Sight" - improves workforce alignment to corporate goals
* Mass cascade of Objectives
* Performance Management Administrator
* Appraisal Rating reports
* Retention of rejected appraisal records
* Display workforce performance management appraisals in the appraisals function
* Display only active plans for managers and their employees
* Support for decimal values for fields using quantitative measurement style in objectives
* Display sources of competencies and objectives on the workflow notification page

Oracle Compensation Workbench
* Set Award Effective Dates (finally!) - thus enabling you to determine pay rewards once, but implement them on different dates
* Link to Appraisals from the CWB Allocations worksheet
* Enhanced individual compensation distribution

Talent Profile
A brand new dashboard which provides a complete picture on an employee.
* Uses '9-box' matricies to show performance vs Potential etc (i'm sure the true HR-types amongst you all will be jumping for joy at this baby)
* Provides a jump-off point for launching all the Talent Management actions...
** Competencies
** Appraisals
** Performance Objectives
** Work Preferences
** Previous Employment
** Professional Qualifications
** Compensation Statement
** Benefits etc

Oracle Succession Planning
* Flash-based suitability analyzer (was an awesome demonstration, trust me - to see it running was impressive)
* Compare profiles based on competency or profile compare report
* Identify potential successors with ranking

Oracle Time and Labor
* Supervisor Timecard Dashboard
* Full audit trail report
* Enhanced usability
* DCAA compliance?? (is this US specific?)

Integration with Peoplesoft HR Helpdesk 9.1
* This now has full seamless integration with EBS, providing a 360 degree view of employee with data from EBS HCM (personal, payroll and benefits).
* Able to launch EBS HCM functions as actions

BI Publisher Reports
* Over 200 additional HRMS reports delivered in BI publisher
* Continued support for existing Oracle Reports-based reports

User Productivity Kit (UPK)
Effectively this supplies pre-built end-user documentation, in multiple-interaction modes:
* See It - self-running demo
* Try It - Interactive simulation
* Know It - testing for competence
* Do It - providing context-sensitive help
8 pre-delivered topics for EBS HCM products:
* Payroll
* Compensation
* iRecruitment
* Performance Management
* Learning Management
* Time and Labor
* Human Resources
* Self-Service HR

Other Enhancements
As a general roundup of some of the other things thrown into the pot for Core & Payroll & SSHR
* Absence accrual based on effecive date, Length of Service based on adjusted service date
* Self service assignment costing with approvals
* Upgrade historical costing data to support Sub-ledger Accounting (SLA)
* Approval Deviation Report in AME
* Dynamic security on ex and employees - core HR

There is more - but this will need to come in a separate post.
