Hi All

I'm trying to return a message on sucessfull loading of positions using HR_POSITION_API.create_position via Web ADI.

I've created a PL/SQL wrapper and custom error messages work fine but I can not get a message to return on success.

Any ideas?

A green smiley face not enough for you, then? grin

Seriously I'd love to be wrong on this, but I would imagine that's going to be difficult unless you can get at (and of course change) the internals of the Macro(s) that control the upload process.

Cheers CT

I do love the smiley face, but I was wanting to return a positions post number as this is generated at run time. I can return this from other means but was just trying to keep it simple for users

Fair point, I am way too frivolous for my own good these days.

As I said though, if someone who was well versed in these things could find a way of altering the Excel Macro (and to clarify, it's only an educated guess on my part that it's even in there at all), then you might have a fighting chance. I'd be very interested in knowing how that can be done if you ever find out!
