Hi

To protect the "CORRECTIONS" being made in per_all_people_f (by the person_type amendments ;-) ) ... i am taking the PPF.last_updated_by and (assuming the FND_USER.user_id is still active) am becomeing this "person", thus corrections will be by the same person ..

I also need to take identify a responsibility_id and for the user I am finding these in FND_USER_RESP_GROUPS ..

However .. some users have many responsibilities and some of these responsibilities DO NOT have the authority to make changes to the people data ..

Consequently :

SELECT MAX(t1.responsibility_id) INTO l_out
FROM fnd_user_resp_groups t1
etc

Will be fairly "RANDOM"

.. so ..

How can i assure the Q. so that i restrict the responsibility to those that are "authorised" ..

smile

Thanks ..

Neill

What is it that controls the 'person updating' authority for a responsibility? I am guessing some sort of system profile option? Or is it a security group? Or maybe both?

Maybe your query above needs to include a join to the profile option values table (name of which escapes me at this hour of the night) for the given profile option (whichever one it happens to be) joined on responsibility id?

HR security will be the key to access to specific person records, that and having access to the correct form of course.

THis means that User A may have access to update some people records but not others.
Neill you may need to cross-check against the PER_PERSON_LIST table to ensure the security group corresponds to the person_id
