This morning we had a wee issue with a new user registering and then proceeding to post spurious replies to some posts and including advertising links within their tag-line.

This was quickly spotted and initially dealt with my banning the said user and removing the links from the posts.

We have now removed these posts from the forum and have moved the user into a "special" category of users.
We have also taken note of the IP address range used.

Repeat occurence will result in the IP range being added to the ban list.

Please note that we do not require administration approval for the registration of new users as we think this forum is niche enough for the user demographic to be trust worthy. I'd hate to think that a mindless minority will affect the day-to-day use of this forum for the majority.

With immediate effect, we have promoted 2 additional users to the administrator level, giving them the power to ban users and remove offensive posts.
