Can anyone point me at a list of all the 'Parameters' which can be entered in this table, there values and potential effects

Cheers

Gus

There's probably a (already out-of-date) note somewhere in the innards of Metalink, however for a simple list of what is available, you can look at HR_LOOKUPS for a lookup_type = 'ACTION_PARAMETER_TYPE'

As for cause and effect, which particular ones take your fancy?

The one I am currently intetested in is Max_Errors....but thought I would have a generic lookover, while I was doing it.

Designing an interface into BEE and we where discussing having a cutoff %age error value...we then got onto discussing what was set for 'MAX_ERRORS' as BEE now is a true 'Payroll Process' with Actions, had a look and nothing is set

Anyone know the default for 'MAX_ERRORS'...2000 comes to mind

I thought it was 50, or is that MAX_UNDO.

By the way, if you didn't know, there is a form for setting the parameters now so us funkies can play with them.

The instance I am seeing at the moment doesn't seem to have that particular parameter set, which surprises me as they do a lot of BEE stuff here. I would not be surprised, though, if someone told me it was 1! I look forward to being enlightened on this myself.

As my learned colleague correctly asserts, there is indeed a form for setting these things up (I think it is under 'Processes and Reports' if you are in as UK HRMS Manager responisibility). Indeed, it allows you to define separate parameter groups so that when you then change a parameter value, you are only changing the value associated with that specific group (e.g. 'BEE_LOADING_GROUP' or whatever ya wanna call it). Lots of existing payroll processes out there have 'Action Parameter Group' as an optional parameter on the concurrent program definition - including the BEE Batch Process! This allows certain action parameters to be applied for that particular process, whilst leaving the base values (and those of other groups) untouched. I seem to recall we had occasion to set up just such a group for the migration data-pump processes where I am currently.

It's actually under 'Other Definitions' > 'Action Parameters'

Ah, that'll be why it appeared twice in my search list when I searched for it in the menu. blush

Well spotted, young man!

MAX_ERRORS_ALLOWED: Maximum number of consecutive errors you encounter before a full failure. Default value is taken from CHUNK_SIZE (or 20 if no chunk size). Please note this will affect other processes like EOY for example!

Jairo
