Hello,

We came across an issue yesterday and I just wanted your thoughts....

When my user logs in they have two choices in their html menu: timekeeper entry and discoverer viewer. If they select discoverer viewer it opens another tab to open discoverer and all works ok. Once the report is run, click on exit and it returns to the original html tab with the responsibilities on it.

If they select timekeeper entry, the Java menu opens with the functions timekeeper entry and discoverer viewer. They enter the details in the timekeeper entry form and then select discoverer viewer from the menu. Once they have completed the report and click on exit, it opens up another tab with the html responsibilities listed.

So, I can end up with multiple tabs in my explorer session which have the list of responsibilities available. I can open up the same function within each of the tabs.

Is there some behind the scene configuration that needs to be set to prevent this from happening or is it a process thing that we need to ensure any additional tabs created are closed?

Hope this makes sense.....

Hmmm - I can't see why the Java menu needs to open at all! At the airport I know we managed to fix some issues with mutiple IE sessions opening with Discoverer Viewer, but your issue seems to be before that!

Sorry to be no help at all!

Just wanted to double check whether anyone else has come across this issue before?

Is this still applicable if we're launching discoverer from within our hr responsibilities?

You could look at the Profile options

ICX: Discoverer Launcher

ICX: Discoverer Viewer Launcher

Hi Geoff,

Yes, we've populated these profile options. I just don't understand why when I access discoverer throught java menu it is effectively opening up another session...

Thanks for your help

Marina
