In one of our department we have 50 employees, out of those 50 only 30 employees are SSHR users. Rest of the 20 employees are not computer literate but we still want to their each and every HR related transaction completed through SSHR.

To make a practice of SSHR for non computer users we would like to create an SSHR user (so called initiator). This SSHR user can apply for SSHR transactions on behalf of those non computer employees. This SSHR user is not an approver he is just an initiator of SSHR transactions on behalf of non computer users.

Please advice on it.

Regards,

Saqib Rahat

Can the manager initiate requests on behalf of employees?

Yes he can, when I am trying to set this up, managers' approval hierarchy is hit instead of employees.

Please let me know if you anyone help me with this. It's like an urgent.

You can play around the approval hierarchy using AME to not send for approval if the manager is entering the request.
What version are you on?

This is the issue we are encountering. the person who is applying on behalf of others is just a person not employee's manager /supervisor.

I dont think its possible to have this in Self Service.

one solution will be:
1. create a admin resposnibility
2. create custom security profile based on your criteria
3. attach the relevant fastpath based PUI to that responsibility
4. develop some FYI alerts/triggers to the managers informing them

Sorry SBI - it absolutely is possible. We did this at one of the UK's largest aiport operators, amongst others, where the HR Shared Service Centre use Manager Self Service functions on behalf of managers and employees.

Try this - you need a security profile that allows the user to see more than their dirct reports. You need the Search facility in Self Service enabled. Give them the MSS menu, then find the employee and do the transaction.

Then start playing with the options in AME to do any approval routings you require.

Thanks for comments SBi and Goeff.

Goeff,

We create the security profile and it worked fine as long as to pull the employees. But when we apply for leaves approval's hierarchy is not of that employee.

Approval hierarchy is of initiator (creator) who is creating on behalf of that employee.

Hope you get the idea, kindly help us with that.

Regards,

SR
