Hi, I am trying to create grade/step ladders utilising Total Compensation setup wizard, I have went through the seven setup steps, submitted my ladder but I am receiving the following error message "ORA-01400" cannot insert null into "BEN"."BEN"_VRBL_RT_PRFL_F."NAME". I have tried locating the error message on Metalink but to no avail, has anyone seen this error message before, and what does it mean? Is this something to do with enrollment plans??
Hi Jan I'm not familiar with the BEN module, however the error is complaining about a mandatory column being NULL when the process is trying to insert a row. The NAME colum is the name of the Variable Rate Profile that is trying to be created by the process/step you are doing.
Whether this gives you any pointers to assist you further....
Either that or wait for one of the (few) BEN Aces to wander by.
Hi Marina, thank you for responding, I'm assuming that you are referring to the Grade Rates as @ step 5 of the grade ladder, if you were then Yes, although I did do some amendments afterwards, if this was the issue, would I have to delete the grade ladder and start again?
Amending the grade rate information after the grade ladder has been created does not mean you need to delete the grade ladder, so don't worry about that. Did you make the amendments through the total compensation wizard or throught grade rates table? Have you run the Recalculate Participation Values: Grade/Step Progression concurrent request?
Might be barking completely up the wrong tree here, but we had issues withour grade ladders and the way the rates were being setup!
Hi Marina, once again thank you for your update, I have to admit GSP is relatively new to me, I thought that your grade ladder had to be successfully created before you ran the Recalculate Participation Values,in answer to your question I made my amendments through the wizard and not the grade rate tables
Our issue centred around the fact that we needed to set the grade rates up in the Grade Rate table first.. Let me look a little more into it and I'll get back to you
