Thought I'll mention 3 that would have helped me in previous projects. . .Thank to dev for finding the time to Weave (no pun intended) these features in. . .-- Generate Payslips as PDFs and View Online . .-- Determine Costs for Prorated Payroll Amounts - (Should solve the teething problems with part period costing I hope..) . .-- Categorize BEE Batches by Source and Type . .That should ease the pain a bit.............

Can you tell me (and the rest of them!) how to view the payslips as PDFs? Is it a Concurrent process? That one might make some of my users very happy!

All release documentation from big brother has to be taken with a pinch of salt . They sacked all the technical writers during the last purge , dunno who writes documentation nowadays. Oracle has backtracked a bit on this one and issued a separate note!

Only legislation that have implemented PDF payslip can view them as PDF. As documented in HRMS
Family pack K documentation (Note:310928.1) this is currently only available for the following
legislations: KW, MX, ZA. Therefore if you are not using these legislations you will not be able
to see the online payslip in PDF, until a future patch delivers the functionality to your
legislation.

There is currently no ETA for when other legislation will display the payslip in PDF format.

Use Central Profile Values in SSHR

The following profile values are set when SSHR pages are rendered:

* $PROFILE$.PER_PERSON_ID
* $PROFILE$.PER_ASSIGNMENT_ID
* $PROFILE$.PER_BUSINESS_GROUP_ID
* $PROFILE$.PER_LOCATION_ID
* $PROFILE$.PER_PAYROLL_ID
* $PROFILE$.PER_ORGANIZATION_ID

Could be useful for Table Validated value sets and Context sensitive flex-fields...

Gavin, would you be able to use these in value sets etc if they're only set when SSHR pages are rendered?

Another possible issue to consider would be the effects of such value-sets on any process which didn't have the wherewithall to set those values up - e.g. a migration process?

Interesting Metalink note I just stumbled upon... 392563.1.

This says that $FLEX$ and $PROFILES$ in OA Framework is supported. Wouldn't be surprised if the options that are available in OAF are not the same as forms though!

Oracle will not support :BLOCK.item although that is not surprising as they are trying to phase this out.

Not sure how items like Data Mig / Interfaces will handle it though. They would probably need re-work if they are existing or just consideration of setting the correct fields if new...
