For those developers that may also be members of the UK-OUG, or work for someone who is.

See the information in the blog post (contains a link to the UK-OUG page)
ADF Training Event

Regards

Barry

I'm toying with the idea of doing this, but to do so I guess I need to join the UK-OUG first - is there a minimum membership level to qualify?

Hmm. When i was a Bronze member i know that you did not get any free places at Sigs etc, but it cost you £80.

For silver and above, then the places were free.

I think one of my fellow co-conspiritors at the NHS is also attending, and signed-up to the user group at the same time and bagging a place on this.

Not sure on the logistics, but may consider stopping down for the night. Possible impromptu HCM Aces night out perhaps?

I notice at the bottom of the page that

"Terms and Conditions: This event is free to all UKOUG members, however if you book onto this event and either do not show or cancel your place less than 48 hours prior to the event, you will be charged £80 + VAT."

I read this as: even cheapskate bronze members can register...

Are there any other obvious benefits to membership?

Again it depends on the level of membership to take up.

Bronze level you get discounted rates for SIG's and the various conferences etc.
Silver level you get free places to the SIG's and a 2-day (or 2 1day passes) for the end-of-year conference.
Gold and above i think they treat you like royalty smile

I think there are other things like discounts on Oracle training courses etc too.

Take a look at their website - there is a section on membership benefits.

For you info, i was a Bronze member but got offered a "special" deal to upgrade to Silver last year. My membership runs out in June - have not yet decided on renewal options yet.

OK I've bitten the bullet and joined at Bronze cheapskate level - now I have to wait for the application to be accepted! By which time I imagine the course will be oversubscribed, knowing my luck.

Baz,

Is that stopping down the night before, or the night after?

Delboy

I'd have thought the night-after. No point getting lashed and then having to attend an intensive day's training!
