Is there some utility/code which can be used to migrate Pay_user_tables from one instance to another..

Setting up Pay_user_tables is pain...

There are APIs these days, although again not exactly a perfect solution in that you still have to create and hold source data somewhere. But it's doable, and it's supported:

PAY_USER_TABLE_API
PAY_USER_ROW_API
PAY_USER_COLUMN_API
PAY_USER_COLUMN_INSTANCE_API

I do believe someone has done something akin to FNDLOAD for this kind of data, but cannot remember who or when it was...

There is an FND Load file, however, Oracle have created it so that it can only download Seeded Tables (i.e. Ones which have a Legislation Code!).

The LCT file that I found which did the seeded tables was: $PAY_TOP/patch/115/import/pyudtt.lct.

When I was in WA they had copied this FND Loader file and customized it to enable it to download / upload non-seeded tables. This was uber helpful!!

I am not sure though just how supported this would be mind you!

Quite like the concept of creating some custom tables (mirror the existing tables), and create a small package to load data into the main tables using the above mentioned API's. Migration would then be a case of SQL extract from DEV, SQL Loader into Custom tables on Test, Pre-Prod (etc) and then execute migration script! Sounds like a nice little project... Might look at that next Saturday! Hmmm....

I know for a fact that there are several clients who use "modified" LCT templates to get around some of the restrictive "developer only" clauses within the seeded LCT's.

One such client has used modified LCT's extensively, both throughout the initial data migration phase, and also on-going, and has successfully passed through a R11 to R12 upgrade without any data issues whatsoever.

I like it! I like it alot!

Also, as a possible way to do this without tweaking the LCT files... There are Web ADI's available (I believe) for UDT's.

I have seen them listed under the Integrators on Desktop Integrator responsibility (you may need to create a Sub-Function for each of the 4 Integrators and assign them to the Responsibility)...
