Hi

I'm investigating possible ways we can implement a lost cost contract management solution that enables my colleagues to run off letters and emails depending on contract end dates.

I'm looking into using a read only ODBC link to back end tables in the Oracle HRMS system. Is this possible?

Has anyone any other ideas/possible solutions that would enable us to achieve this?

Gareth

Web ADI? Letter production is one of the features of this product... Take a look at:

Oracle Support Note 360105.1: Understanding and Using Web ADI in Oracle HRMS.

In the HRMS Supplement (I have looked at 11i but sure there will be same sections for R12) there is a section called: Creating Mail Merge Letters using Web ADI.

You will still need to do some SQL coding though...

Hope this helps!
Gavin

Hi Gareth,

In addition to Gavin's solution, you can also explore the bi publisher

Letter can build in the follwoing fashion
1. Build your query, incorporate in the data template
2. Build Template, which will be your letter template
3. using burtsing feature, you can send the letter in e-mail.

Hope this helps you.

Cheers
Sudhir
