You are right, the article is indeed from 2010, however the first I heard of it was in my accountant's September 2011 newsletter... I couldn't post a link to that though, so I did a search for other references to the ruling.

... Merely that some sort of information transfer might need to happen between payroll and payables? Unless it already happens of course, in which case forget I posted this.

Could just be a reporting requirement. Should be easy enough with a standard element result listing. Unless of course, the client wants the VAT amount recorded in payroll and transferred to GL.
