Anyone heard if you can remove the Gender 'Unknown' value from the Enter and Maintain form yet? I believe this is something seeded and I can't disable it but just wanted to check this is still the case. Under an Australian BG, 12.1.3 if it makes any difference.

Thanks!

Hi

I don't have access to an R12 environment at the moment, but on 11.5.10 it looks to me like that picklist is based on the HR lookup 'SEX' which only has the obvious 'M' and 'F' as options. I presume the 'Unknown' is a default value applied to the picklist itself, so I am guessing it would need a form change to remove that? Certainly it would not let me create a person without explicitly choosing either M or F in that field.

In some countries due to legislative reasons, applicants need not specify what gender they are, until they get the offer/get hired (in order to avoid discrimination) so in that case you will still need to use Unknown.

Yeah the client understands its for anti-discrimination but don't seem go for that down-under! If you work for them you tell them if you're M or F. If you're creating an employee it forces you to choose anyway so think I can get round it.

Thanks!
