Hi , Please advise on the following errors , during initial balance upload in VALIDATE mode.

1.This combination of balances is invalid for the load date.
2.No DateTrack row found in table PAY_US_EMP_FED_TAX_RULES_F
3.The Defined Balance specified does not exist.

Please advise.

1. Either trying to load the same balance/dimension twice for the same assignment, or different dimensions for the same balance have incompatible values, eg itd=100, ytd=50.

2. No idea, US legislation rule of some sort

3. Balance does not have the specified dimension allocated to it.

CT , I have checked the records and everything is proper i.e

1. no duplicates
2. the errored records have QTD and YTD dimeensions , having QTD values lessthan YTD.

Not sure why the validation failing for the records

Can you load a QTD on its own?

What is the Effective Date on the Balance? I could be totally wrong, but doesn't it need to be 01-Jan-0001?

ANS : We are setting up upload date at header level not overriding at line level , which is sysdate of the run.
What upload date(s) are you using?
ANS : SYSDATE
Can you load a QTD on its own?
ANS : Few days back we deleted YTD balances for the errored records and succesfully loaded the QTD values.
Exactly what YTD dimension(s) are involved here?
ANS : 1.ASSIGNMENT WITHIN GOVERNMENT REPORTING ENTITY YEAR TO DATE
2.ASSIGNMENT WITHIN GOVERNMENT REPORTING ENTITY QUARTER TO DATE

I thought it might be a problem on MOS, but that is referring to the dimension 'Assignment within Government Reporting Entity Fiscal Year to Date' but it seems you aren't using that.

The only other thing i can think of is the upload date - I would normally use the period end date of the period in which the legacy system payroll last ran, whereby you extracted those balances. e.g. if the last pay run on legacy was Jun 2011, then set the upload date to 30-JUN-2011.

@Gav, good try fella but the effective date 01/01/0001 only refers to the Balance Initialization elements/links, not the balances themselves.

I knew I had seen the 01-Jan-0001 date before... It was on the Balance Init Elements... That is why I like this place; keeps me on my toes!
