Anyone know if this exists?

If so, what are the limitations of it? Any warnings, gotchas, or do-you-mind-if-we-dont's about it would be welcomed.

I am looking into extracting certain element definitions, balance definitions, feeds, formulas, results etc with a view to then uploading them wherever required.

Think I've more-or-less answered my own question based on a discussion I've had here - it's still FNDLOAD, but there are some payroll-related LCT files - sadly, the ones I really want either don't exist or are too restrictive in what they are able to load.

Anyone used iSetup-11i, and if so what if any issues are there with that?

Hi CT,

I used iSetup on R12 a couple of years ago and whilst the sys amin and HR side of things seemed to work pretty well, we couldn't get payroll to copy everything across as we wanted.

We had a number of calls with Oracle logged for which we recieved numerous patches but in the end we ran out of time to try and get it working properly.

No idea if its any more usable nowadays.

Cheers,
Chris.

Thanks Chris.

Hmm, that sounds consistent with the patchy state of the payroll entity LCT definitions. Doesn't bode well for 11i10 either, if you were having those issues on R12.

Almost makes me wonder if it's not worth conjuring up something involving APIs, which appear to exist for creating elements/inputs/links/UDTs/formula result rules etc... unless someone has done this already???

We done something with Web ADI which works quite nicely... We use Web ADI for:

* Element and Input Values
* Formula Results
* Links
* Table Structure and Values
* Balance Feeds (never got around to doing Balance Definition and Dimensions, figured that these were simple enough to do by hand)

Basically, created a View for each Web ADI (i.e., a View for Element and Input Values), and an Upload Package which accepted the data from the Web ADI Sheet and called the API's to load the config in.

When we are then creating config, we "download" it from Dev, and upload into Test. Once test is done, again we Download that config (just in case there are any "fixes" etc) and load that into Pre-prod. Final testing done there and load into Prod ready to go!

Hmmmm.... intriguing, tell me more young man...

Presumably you have download/upload integrators for each of those entities, as well as the views?

Do you have a multi-node setup? I seem to remember hearing of issues at Worthy Down with Web-ADI on multi-node environments.
