It seems we may have discovered the difference between 11i and R12 on enhanced retro.

In 11i its running a package del_latest_balances (does what it says on the tin...deletes the latest balances). In R12 it doesn't get called at all.

Any thoughts?

Interesting... I wonder why R12 suddenly decides clearing down latest balances is not worth the bother any more? I can certainly understand the increased burden of doing that - we have an SR open at the moment around performance issues arising from end-dating old element types. This seems to be largely due to the work involved in managing the latest balance rows linked to that element.

We raised an SR asking the question and Oracle have raised a bug for 11i.

Don't think they have actually said that. Bugged the fact that we have a performance issue.
