Hopefully, you payroll number crunchers out there will understand the concept of 'Alabaster' when processing maternity pay. We amend the average earnings on the statutory payments form and the statutory elements are recalculated such that the additional 90% higher pay can be reclaimed. This has never been an issue but since we have applied RUP9 we are getting different problems. In some cases it works ok, others it just amends the original element and some it does nothing.

Has anyone come across this issue before I raise an SR.

Cheers,

Delboy

Hi delboy

The payroll team I support currently manually recalculate the average earnings as appropriate if someone has a payrise in April, for retro SMP to then generate backpay where necessary - are you saying there is something that can do this for us or have you got a clever personalised element of your own?

Thanks

Nothing fancy I'm afraid. The payroll team here calculate the average earnings manually, but when they are amended in the form, it generates SMP corrections correctly in the current month.

Ahh fair enough, thanks. I will advise the payroll manager this!

Cheers.
