Dear All

Has anyone out there used Quick Address functionality with HRMS i.e. enter house number and postcode and the rest populates automatically. If so please could you enlighten me on how easy/difficult this is and what provider was used.

Many thanks
Lou

try www.qas.com
This is the vendor used by most of the clients in UK.

There is a demo of QAS for Oracle e-business suite at this url
http://www.qas.com/partners/oracle/default.asp?ref=ukhome

Cheers
Vin

I recall they used it at the SHN (anag.) - could someone there elaborate further?

THanks Vin - would you know how easy it is to implement this? Do you know of any war stories?

I could nudge some of the guys here to see if they have any experience of it. I can confirm CT's comment that is in use here.
I just dont know who implemented it, or who did the custom bits..

I have a feeling young Braund will know - I'll feel his collar in a mo, and try and extract a confession...

Hmm, someone tipped him off and he's legged it - however, his partner in crime, Mr Mobbs, was able to recall that there was some strange agreement between Messrs QAS and Oracle, whereby one and only one Oracle consultant was supposed to come in and implement it! The name of that individual escapes him (so he claims). But don't worry, I have some jump leads in the back of my car, I'm sure he'll sing like the proverbial canary once he's 'wired up'...

Without wishing to be quoted, we are going to be using QAS here at the MOD project and so far after trying to implement it for just over 1 and a half years it is still not working. Basically the problems currently lie around it's inability to work on the re-built SSHR version. Oracle contracted QAS to build the professional forms part which they did and works well (sort of) and then as Chris Mobbs said, brought in a contractor to write the new SSHR front end. This worked (sort of) for a while on the older SSHR and will completely not work on the new version. Whilst said contractor was working on the new version he misteriously disappeared and so we are at a bit of stumbling block. We are waiting on Oracle to get someone in to write it.
From a professional forms point of view - it works well but (obviously) does not validate pre-loaded addresses that went in before QAS was loaded(something the client here wanted it to do...). The main thing to realise is that it does not work by you entering a postcode in the Address form - you click on the Zoom button and that invokes QAS, from where you enter the details and then by selecting the correct address it populates it back into the Address form. Sounds obvious I know but I have seen alot of people very surprised when they enter Address Line 1 and Post Code and nothing happens.
Hope this helps..!

In short, its half a solution.
Which is particularly galling when you consider the rest of the world has fully integrated postcode address validation - take a look in any high street; most EPOS systems have this built in.

Oh, and welcome back Ms Johnson

Hi Corrine,

What is the latest down there at MOD, I understand the issues with QAS integrating with SSHR are now resolved. Is this correct?.
