Hi All

I have an interesting question from a user that I'm not sure is possible.

We have a 6i report that is run as a concurrent program in EBS 11.5.10. There are 8 parameters on the report, of which 2 are mandatory and 6 aren't.

Of these 6, 3 are not important and can be filled in or left blank, it doesn't matter.

However, the other 3 are important. If all 3 are left blank, the report will run for hours and produce some 500 pages of data.

I would like to know if it is possible to ensure that 1 of these 3 important parameters is filled in in the SRS form in 11.5.10? Has anyone done this?

Any thoughts or other ideas appreciated.

You could consider introducing an additional parameter with valid values of Yes only, and an SQL based default that examines the three parameters of interest setting the new parameter to Yes only when one or more of the other three has a value. I realise that this would only be a default, but a user would have to explicitly over ride it to leave the other three as blank.

I left a rather important point off which is that they may actually want to run it with no parameters very occassionally.

So a small modification of what you suggest above would work.

Has anyone done custom library/forms personalizations around the SRS form?

I've done some more investigation on this and recommended one of the following:

1. Extra Parameter
A parameter with a default of No. If this parameter is no, and one of the other three is not filled in, the post forms trigger will raise an error.

2. Custom Library
Capture the WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED event on the Submit button, and do similair checking there.

Forms Personalization is not an option as it doesn't support WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED events except possibly on single button forms.
