When ever i am trying re-hire the employee using the API "hr_employee_api.re_hire_ex_employee" i am getting the below error message -any pointers on this error?

ORA-20001: Cannot rehire a person unless a final processing date exists for their previous period of service

Current status of the employee assignment is 'Terminate Assignment' and teh employee status is 'Ex employee'

You probably have terminated person records with no Final Process Date set on the Termination Record.

I would second Delboy's assertion - to which I would add, if you need to programatically set the final process date before re-hiring you could use the package procedure:

hr_ex_employee_api.final_process_emp

From front end you can go to people screen and then to end employment screen enter the final process date for the employee.

second way is to handle the same in your custom package in which api is called to hire the applicant.
you can check fot the employees data in per period of service table and all the date column are their in the table .once an exit is logged for the employee the actual termination date,notified date and last standard process date populates.
check in ur pckg if the final process date is null then pass the same value in final proces date as that of last standard process date and after which call the api and the issue would be sorted out.check for these conditions in code before caling api this will surely work.
