Here is the requirement -

I want to create an item in SSHR page using personalizations with a default/initial value derived from the sql query.

I am not interested to develop a VO for this,as item is for ready only purpose to display some actual service details for the employee who login into the SSHR My Job/Salary Information page.

Anyone have experienced this?

To start with check if the value you want to display is available in the existing list of VOs.
It could be available but hidden or could be available in the VO but not defined on the SSHR page as a field at all.

If the item you want is not in the existing VO then you will have to extend the VO to include it.

If you have other requirements for altering the default page query etc then you may also need to customise the VOImpl class too!
