I'm trying to work my way through the existing grade ladder configuration that was done before my time. I'm struggling to understand the relationship between the grade ladder, eligbility profiles, programs, etc.

One of the grade ladders that has been created is for juniors, which they are to progress through on their birthday. I'm trying to find where in the configuration it defines this.

Any pointers in the right direction of some documentation or explaination would be great

Thanks in advance

Marina

So there I am, trawling around the Aces board at 1030pm, and you hope I'm keeping myself out of trouble???.... OK fair point, yes I was keeping myself out of trouble for a change. My Batman outfit is at the cleaner's anyway... *shudders at the memory*

And how many more times, you are Barney Lubble, I am Fled!!!

Anyway back on topic, if there's any bits of the setup you're stuck on, post back of course.

Me again!

Our aim is to progress an employee through a grade ladder once they reach a certain age. We have a few grade ladders setup for our Junior grades - xxx.J16, xxx.J17, xxxJ18, etc. Once an employee becomes 17, we want to run the appropriate process so that they move up to the next grade and rate.

The current configuration has an age derived factor setup of Juniors 13-21 with min age 13 and max age 21. A juniors participant eligibility profile with the age derived factor attached. In the grade ladder, the profile has been attached to the relevant ladder. Do I need a derived factor for each age?

We have been told we need to run the participation process: grade step to enable this progression. Is this the correct process?
Hope this makes sense! Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Marina

Can't comment on the derived factors bit, but I do believe you need to run the GSP participation process to do the business. One of the places what I have worked at before now, were known to schedule this to run nightly.

Hmmm, ok. When I ran the process entering a value in the grade ladder parameter, it didn't update who I had expected it to. If I didn't put a grade ladder in, it only updated employee's who weren't on a junior grade ladder!!! There isn't any eligibilty criteria against any other grade ladder..

This is driving me potty especially as I'm unable to get hold of the Oracle consultant who set it up and I'm not very confident in my own knowledge of this area...
