We are currently testing the Legislative patch and when the business have tested it they have asked why it is non-recurring instead of recurring. My understanding was they only enter the element once the payment comes from the Govt (entered each pay cycle rather than for the 18 weeks they will be on leave). Could someone please comfirm if this is correct.

I assume you are referring to the Additional Statutory Paternity Pay. The statutory elements are generated by the absence record and are created on a weekly basis similar to Statutory Sick Pay and Statutory Maternity Pay, hence they are non-recurring.

The way that Oracle have supplied this legislative change is to provide a Non-recurring element. As Del says, in the UK there is a whole load of functionality surrounding SSP / SMP etc so that teh non-recurring element will be auto created for each week. as far as I have seen this does not exist in the AU legislation...

The way we have worked around it is to create a Recurring element that indirectly passes the payment to the non-recurring element. The recurring element will have to stop once the balance reaches the amount to be paid (suppliedby gov)...
